We'll Meet Again
With the outbreak of Covid-19 in Ireland, and the lockdown which followed, the organisers of the Forget-Me-Nots Choir, a community choir with a special welcome for people with dementia, mobilised quickly to enable members to stay connected and to continue choir activities insofar as that was possible. Within weeks the group had resumed its rehearsals every Tuesday, now on Zoom, and had also introduced Silver Lining Fridays: Musicianship and Yesteryear Sessions featuring guest singers. In addition to these a Virtual Choir project was launched. The Vera Lynn classic 'We'll Meet Again' was chosen and piano and vocal tracks were prepared for the members to sing along to. The team then worked together to give members every opportunity to be able to produce home recordings to contribute. What you see now is the fruits of those efforts - a product of ambition, teamwork and great fun.
